“Since the beginning of the 21st century, photography has kept pace with the evolution of digital technologies, which has led to the great democratization of photographic images in cyberspace, with a focus on the use of what I call visual capitalism. My visual work emerges as a form of confrontation, resistance, and antithesis to the visual norms of contemporary times. My photography is based on experimental analog film and is guided by a constant search for referential elements in its origins, such as the photographic referent or the search for spaces that we experience that we call place. Assuming the importance of creating intimate, personal spaces for each individual, meaning when one can isolate among the multitude of spaces they inhabit, places where they can let their creative imagination flow, places where dreamlike and poetic aspects take on a very personal expression. The photographic referent, when transformed into a place, it is a pause in physical movement.

The photographic referent and index are always present in my photography, sometimes as a three-dimensional object, thought out, rehearsed, and other times emerging spontaneously, in the instantaneity of a temporal fragment. So the search is constant, and I often assume the notion that I myself am the photographic referent.

My photographic practice has followed a coherent guiding line, not only thematically but also aesthetically, which makes me think of it as chapters of a unique photographic experience, so the thought process that makes sense is to visualize graphically how the different photographic series could be interconnected in a possible publication. My goal during the artistic residency is to create an artist book that coherently and structurally combines the photographic series I have developed over the course of my journey.”
